Dr. Clary obtained his Bachelor of Science from Furman University in Greenville, SC and his Doctor of Dental Surgery from the University of Tennessee. He completed a one-year Advanced General Dentistry Residency at Ft. Campbell, KY and served as a General Dentist in the US Army for 4 years before completing his Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery residency at the prestigious Brooke Army Medical Center in San Antonio, TX. After completing his residency, Dr. Clary served as the Chief of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and Oral Surgery Mentor to the AEGD program and at Ft. Jackson.
Dr. Clary was honored as one of the Top Oral Surgeons in America for 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018, and 2019. He is the Co-Director for the South Carolina Academy of Advanced Implant Studies and the former Chief of Dental Services for Prisma Health Baptist and Prisma Richland Memorial Hospitals. He also served as a board member with the Greater Columbia Dental Association and he has lectured to the US Army Medical and Dental Departments, the San Antonio Consortium of Health Sciences, the Greater Saint Louis Dental Society, and several continuing education groups in the Columbia Metro area.
He has three daughters and is married to his wife of 20 years. He is an Eagle Scout and Member of Order of the Arrow of the Boy Scouts of America. Dr. Clary is a member of the Catholic Archdiocese and supporter of Cardinal Newman High School. He enjoys shooting, golf, cycling, snow skiing, and is a professional musician in drums/percussion.
